Job Description / Role:
KEO is looking for an ITS Engineer – ICT to be seconded to their client from the government sector in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on supporting the Senior ICT Engineer in ensuring the availability, performance, security, and resilience of Road Management Centre (RMC) ICT infrastructure.
This includes managing data centre environments, networks, virtualized platforms, hardware, software, and systems supporting Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and supporting Road Management Centre (RMC) systems to ensure performance, availability, and service levels.
- Reviewing and witnessing ITS project commissioning to ensure hosting, configuration, and network infrastructure meet specifications.
- Investigating, analyzing, and designing new projects and existing ITS assets to meet compute, network, and storage needs.
- Managing and monitoring the performance of RMC ICT maintenance contractors.
- Monitoring preventive maintenance and ensuring contingency measures for control rooms and data centre equipment.
- Managing RMC virtualized environments and resource allocation.
- Monitoring firewall configurations and hardware change controls.
- Reviewing roadway ITS implementation project plans and specifications.
- Coordinating with Ashghal ISD to ensure operational technology alignment with IT security requirements.
- Identifying technology trends and recommending improvements for hosting and cloud readiness.
- Providing technical troubleshooting and fault investigation.
Experience Required:
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of specialist experience in ICT infrastructure.
- Experience in data centre environments, virtualization, network infrastructure, and service availability management.
- Experience in monitoring ICT infrastructure, fault management systems, and maintenance contractors.
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline.
- Chartered Membership of an engineering or relevant professional body is advantageous.
- CCNA or equivalent certification related to network hardware, software, and telemetry systems.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, network management, and fault management systems.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of IT security requirements and best practices.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Languages: English (required); Arabic (preferred).
