Job Description / Role:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Supervising Engineer – Civil to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the Civil Engineering Discipline group within the Technical Support Section within the Engineering Department providing support to all Yanbu projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and perform engineering work to meet city industrial and community infrastructure development program requirements.
- Manage the engineering discipline team including resource planning, workload prioritization, and coordination with other departments.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to lower-level personnel and monitor their performance.
- Review A/E consultant and EPC contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals.
- Provide technical advice to other sections and departments within the Royal Commission.
- Prepare proposals for design work including scope of work, design concepts, sketches, and cost estimates.
- Prepare and update technical specifications, guidelines, and standard drawings.
- Provide technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and value engineering.
- Process submittals/substitution requests and address RFIs during construction.
- Perform field inspections and construction troubleshooting.
- Prepare and present technical correspondence, reports, and studies.
Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering design environment, with at least 5 years as a team lead or supervisor on large-scale industrial, commercial, and residential infrastructure projects. Previous experience in the Middle East is considered an advantage.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject. Registration in Country of Origin in an Engineering Professional Association equivalent to US PE or UK Chartered Engineer status is essential.
Skills Required:
- Comprehensive design and construction support experience in site development, site grading, roads, and wet utilities.
- Knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC).
- Development of hydraulic network models (e.g., SewerGEMS and WaterGEMS).
- Technical and administrative ability in design management.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Experience with North American and international codes and standards.
- Experience in BIM processes (ISO 19650 or US National BIM Standards) is an advantage.
