Job Description / Role:

The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Calculate and process overtime, statutory deductions, pension contributions, leave encashments, and final settlements.
  • Ensure payroll transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE Labour Law and relevant emirate-specific pension fund regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes affecting payroll, taxation, and employee benefits.
  • Ensure all payroll records and processes comply with statutory and internal governance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll-related inquiries.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, payment issues, and questions related to salaries, deductions, benefits, and leave payments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing payroll reports, reconciliations, and required documentation.
  • Assist in preparing payroll-related reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure payroll data accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of payroll processes, controls, and system improvements.
  • Ensure alignment of payroll activities with company policies and financial reporting requirements.

Experience Required: Minimum of two (2) years of proven payroll experience within the UAE in a similar role.

Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of UAE payroll practices, labour regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles related to payroll, accruals, provisions, and payment cycles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • High degree of accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with integrity and discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.
