Job Description / Role:
GMG is hosting an Open Day Interview event for various frontline roles across its Supermarket & Hypermarket divisions in the UAE. The available vacancies include Baker, Butcher, Fishmonger, Commis Chef, Receiver, Admin, Cashier, and Stocker. Successful candidates will join a global well-being company retailing a wide portfolio of leading international and home-grown brands. Applicants are expected to demonstrate professionalism, adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and a commitment to operational efficiency within their respective departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Baker: Preparing and baking breads (Arabic, French, Portuguese), operating bakery equipment, and managing production schedules.
- Butcher: Cutting, trimming, and preparing meat cuts, maintaining stock displays, and providing customer recommendations.
- Fishmonger: Cleaning, filleting, and preparing seafood while maintaining section cleanliness.
- Commis Chef: Assisting with food preparation, cooking, and plating in the production site.
- Receiver: Scanning supplier barcodes, performing quality checks, and documenting inventory discrepancies.
- Admin: Handling paperwork, managing stock requests, and compiling operational reports.
- Cashier: Processing customer transactions (cash/card/vouchers) and maintaining front-end displays.
- Stocker: Ensuring product replenishment, FIFO stock rotation, and removal of damaged items.
Skills Required:
- High standards of hygiene and safety compliance.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate relevant departmental equipment (bakery tools, scanning devices, kitchen utensils).
- Capability to handle stock management and inventory monitoring.
- Proficiency in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
