Job Description / Role:
Amazon is looking for a workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to add to the team. As the company continues to grow, there is a need to work as smart as possible to keep all team members safe, fulfilled, motivated, and empowered. The role requires a driven EHS Officer with a Bias for Action to step in and help drive health and safety across the fulfillment center in Riyadh.
In this crucial WHS position, you will report to the WHS Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead site risk assessment for current and new activities.
- Establish site WHS training matrix and lead implementation of site-specific WHS standards, guidelines, objectives, and programs.
- Promote safe culture among employees by providing daily WHS content to shift briefings.
- Perform frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliance in equipment or processes.
- Work with the Operations team to implement solutions to eliminate risk exposure and prevent injury.
- Attend to incidents and occupational injuries on-site.
- Guide and assist area managers on incident investigations, Gensuite write-ups, and communication of lessons learned.
- Assist the Operations team in Gensuite follow-up sheets and CAPA creation.
- Audit record-keeping practices and ensure Gensuite entries align with global WHS standards and local regulations.
- Ensure PPE inventory is maintained and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
- Conduct weekly Key Safety Requirement (KSR) audits, monitoring, and support.
- Ensure completion of basic Fire Fighting and First Aid training requirements.
- Conduct daily Powered Industrial Tool and Trailer Dock Release inspections.
- Daily Action Tracking System monitoring and support.
- Participate in site management safety walks to identify unsafe acts and conditions.
- Provide daily updates to the Country WHS Manager regarding objective progress, incidents, and network actions.
- Prepare WHS committee meeting agendas, minutes of meeting write-ups, and ATS creation.
- Conduct daily Permit to Work reviews and sign-offs.
- Lead WHS-related procurement and follow-ups.
- Prepare emergency response plans and manage/conduct emergency drills and training records.
- Establish, monitor, and support Heat Index management.
- Provide support for site-specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.
- Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits including hazard waste rooms, spill kits, and first aid rooms.
Experience Required:
- Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Communication, Instrumentation, and Controls.
- Experience in data analysis with the ability to interpret and draw insights from data to inform decision-making processes.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
