Job Description / Role:
The Specialist in Risk Management and BCM will play a critical role in drafting, reviewing, and updating the company’s risk management and business continuity procedures, policies, and documentation. This role ensures alignment with international standards such as ISO 31000 and ISO 22301.
You will be responsible for supporting Business Impact Analyses (BIA), maintaining Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Disaster Recovery Plans. As a first-level subject-matter expert, you will provide guidance to department heads, monitor the implementation of frameworks, and conduct testing and exercises to ensure organizational resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and update company risk management and BCM procedures and policies.
- Support and maintain BIA documentation, BCPs, CMPs, and DRPs.
- Maintain risk and BCM registers and ensure they are current and traceable.
- Engage with department heads and stakeholders to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Monitor the implementation of the Risk and BCM Framework and provide scheduled reports.
- Plan and conduct testing and exercises of plans and drive corrective actions.
- Serve as the first-level SME for the company on risk and continuity matters.
- Promote a proactive risk and resilience culture across the organization.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all documentation.
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management and/or business continuity, preferably in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or a regulated environment.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
Skills Required:
- Working knowledge of ISO 31000 and ISO 22301.
- Demonstrated experience developing BIA, BCPs, CMPs, and DRPs.
- Experience in internal audit fundamentals and IIA’s IPPF (risk-based auditing, controls evaluation).
- Strong technical writing and analytical reporting skills.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Visio).
- Certification such as ISO 22301, ISO 31000 Risk Manager, IIA IAP or CIA, MoR, or related.
- Ability to obtain a valid UAE driver’s license.
Languages: Advanced written and verbal English; Arabic is preferred.
