Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Survey Manager to join our team!
As a Survey Manager, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and enforcing surveying procedures, standards, and QA/QC protocols for the airport program. You will oversee topographic, construction, and geospatial surveys, manage field survey teams, ensure data integration across workflows, utilize advanced survey technologies, and liaise with key stakeholders to support project milestones and safe operational practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, and enforce surveying procedures, standards, and QA/QC protocols for the airport program.
- Develop survey plans, control networks, and reporting frameworks aligned with client and project requirements.
- Ensure integration of survey data with design, construction, and operational workflows.
- Oversee topographic, construction, and geospatial surveys for airfield infrastructure, terminals, aprons, taxiways, runways, and ancillary facilities.
- Manage field survey teams to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
- Ensure survey deliverables meet aviation standards, contractual requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure accurate processing, validation, and delivery of survey data to design, engineering, and construction teams.
- Implement and maintain survey databases, GIS platforms, and digital models for project coordination.
- Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and KPIs for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify survey-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent errors or delays.
- Ensure compliance with aviation safety standards, regulatory requirements, and survey best practices.
- Conduct QA/QC audits of survey data and procedures.
- Leverage advanced survey technologies such as total stations, GNSS/GPS, LiDAR, UAVs, and 3D laser scanning.
- Introduce digital tools and automated processes to enhance survey accuracy, efficiency, and integration.
- Support BIM and digital twin initiatives with accurate geospatial data.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary survey team, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development, certifications, and training.
- Promote a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, construction, project controls, and operations teams.
- Liaise with airport authorities, government agencies, contractors, and consultants to resolve survey-related issues.
- Ensure survey strategies support project milestones and safe operational practices.
Experience Required: Minimum 10 years of experience in surveying for airport, airfield, or aviation infrastructure projects. Proven experience managing survey teams on large-scale civil or aviation projects.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field. Master’s degree or specialized certification in survey management preferred.
Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in topographic, construction, geospatial, and as-built surveys.
- Expert-level proficiency with survey instruments, GNSS/GPS, total stations, LiDAR, UAVs, and GIS software.
- Solid understanding of airport construction sequencing, airfield design standards, and aviation safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of surveying quality standards, calibration protocols, and data validation techniques.
- Professional certifications: RICS, CPEng, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with BIM, 3D modeling, and digital surveying platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract standards in construction projects is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced, multi-stakeholder airport programs.
